| One of the prettiest restaurants in town---ivy-covered walls, wicker furniture and two patios looking out onto State Street---this is a favorite spot for a leisurely breakfast or a shady respite when enjoying downtown Santa Barbara. An ice cold Arnold Palmer hits the spot while skimming the menu of sandwiches, soups and salads. We recommend the signature La Arcada salad: a large heap of mixed greens tossed with grilled chicken, clusters of soft goat cheese, dried cranberries and candied walnuts. Our favorite sandwich is the club, with thick slices of oven-roasted turkey layered with crispy bacon, sliced avocado, mozzarella, tomato and onion. We also like the pasilla quesadilla for its generous blend of spicy chiles, cheddar and sliced avocado. If you come for breakfast, try the fluffy Belgian waffle topped with fresh berries and cream. |
