Café Sunflower, Atlanta’s premier spot for vegetarian cooking, draws diners who take their vegetarianism seriously. Most dishes suit or can be adapted to vegan needs, and many will meet macrobiotic requirements. There are two locations, but these are really two quite different restaurants. While some menu items are the same here and at the Buckhead location, such as the spicy pad thai and the spring rolls, the menus show individualization. Dishes also include spaghetti squash cakes and the moo shu vegetables. A children’s menu is available, and vegan-friendly desserts. We lament the loss of the creamy tofu-peanut butter pie, a winner no matter your nutritional philosophy. This location does not serve alcohol. Dinner here closes early, at 9 p.m. on weekdays, and 9:30 p.m. on weekends. Also located at Brookwood Square, 2410 Peachtree Rd., Atlanta, 404-352-8859.
