Cafe Tandoor Restaurant Review:

Along with spicy aromas, the well-appointed dining room at this Aurora version of a Cleveland Heights classic is filled with plants, artwork and soothing shades of teal and plum. Here, though, the menu emphasizes the richer, less fiery dishes. Start with meat or vegetable samosas served with mint yogurt and date-tamarind chutney. Entrées such as rogan josh (traditional lamb curry with garlic, ginger, onions and spices) and juicy butter chicken in a lightly spiced tomato sauce are rendered all the more appealing by the addition of delicately flavored saffron rice. There is a vast menu of meat-free dishes, including navaratana curry, a mixture of vegetables with paneer and cashews in tomato curry, as well as saffron pullao, basmati rice steamed with spices and saffron. A brief menu of desserts features homemade ice cream and a rice pudding with raisins and almonds. A serviceable wine list and full bar are available.
