 Cafe Tandoor Restaurant Review: Authentic Indian cuisine in the suburbs? You bet. One of our favorites at this south-of-the-city outpost is the unusual pishori naan (cashew-and-pistachio-crusted naan, warm from the tandoori oven), along with sweet mango chutney. Pappadums---another must-try---are made from lentil flour and either roasted or deep fried. Main courses like spicy tandoori lamb chops and juicy chicken tikka masala are rendered all the more appealing by the addition of delicately flavored saffron rice. Expect a vast menu of vegetarian dishes, including malai kofta (ground paneer and potatoes shaped into balls, served in a cashew and onion sauce) as well as dal maharani (creamed lentils with ginger, garlic and onions). A serviceable wine list and full bar are available. |
