THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cafe Tartine Restaurant Review

: A chic SoCal rendition of a Parisian sandwich shop, Café Tartine specializes in its namesake open-faced French-style sandwich, the tartine. A stark white interior gives little indication of the passion and quality injected into every dish. Breakfasts are simple omelets and quiches, served with a side of La Brea Bakery breads; but the ingredients are farm-fresh and seasoned with care. As for lunch, one of the tartines---prepared with bread Fed-Ex'd daily from Poilâne, the legendary Paris boulangerie---is a must. We love the grilled prosciutto with sharp, white cheddar. Other tartine options include curried chicken with coconut milk and cilantro, and the regime tartine for diners watching their figures. Recently introduced dinner service offers bistro favorites like pâtés, pissaladières or French onion soup followed by such classics as moules frites, coq au vin or chicken in mustard sauce.
