Waterside Grill Restaurant Review: Waterside Grill serves as the principal in-house restaurant for the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina. A mixture of booths and freestanding tables gives a diner-like feel, with lots of chrome, vinyl and tile. Several sets of double glass doors allow access onto the patio during good weather affording a view of the water. The menu emphasizes sandwiches, burgers and small plates. The latter includes grouper fingers, crab cakes and five-cheese quesadillas. Burger choices include the Hyde Park, which comes with Swiss cheese, mushrooms, avocado, lettuce, tomato and onion. Large platters range from a beef, veal and portobello mushroom meatloaf to pork chops, red snapper, grouper, salmon, chicken and liver and onions (with maple-pepper bacon). Cheesecake, Key lime pie, apple pie and strawberry shortcake are among desserts. There's also a sweet potato pie, worth trying if you want a taste of Southern cooking.
