Monrovia’s charming downtown has a lot to offer diners and now, just across the street from acclaimed Restaurant Devon, arrives this delightful new eatery that features an upscale, northern Italian menu with strong California influences. The golden-hued room is filled to the brim with white linen-covered tables, some of which spill out onto the sidewalk and an enclosed patio in the rear. Start with a fluffy pastry tart filled with wild mushrooms, crispy fried spinach and feta cheese with a marinara sauce, or crab cakes with a bell-pepper aïoli. In addition to an array of pastas, the kitchen will surprise with sophisticated dishes like duck confit with goat cheese-stuffed gnocchi in a sun-dried-cherry cider reduction or pan-roasted halibut with wild mushroom ragoût and a garlic nage.
