| Good coffees and terrific breakfasts are the fare at this neighborhood strip mall café with a coffee roaster front and center. More than 20 varieties of Arabica beans are roasted daily in small batches. Breakfast is the standout meal. The Southwestern Scramble omelet utilizes a spicy mix of roasted Anaheim chilies, olives, corn tortillas, pico de gallo, jack cheese and sour cream. There are fluffy blueberry-sour cream or lemon-berry pancakes. Lunch is popular with office workers from nearby Wilshire business towers thanks to turkey meatloaf sandwiches with chipotle mayo and salads like the herbed chicken breast salad with goat cheese, walnuts and mango-pear dressing. At dinner, Caffè Latte breaks out entrées like grilled skirt steak with mushrooms and onions, grilled cilantro-lime chicken breast with mashed potatoes and shrimp linguine. |
