Some may call this quaint Greenwich Village storefront restaurant romantic, with its wooden floors, oak bar, and Venetian-orange walls. The back room and bar feature aged- and-cracked banquettes to add to the 19th-century ambience. The Northern Italian menu is seasonal, and select offerings can be inspired. The grilled shrimp with arugula, and seared scallops with portobello mushrooms and roasted beets, are good openers. The pastas change daily, and if you like steak tartare, enjoy it here as a main course. The reasonably priced wine list offers selections from four continents.
