| California Pizza Kitchen offers a casual meal for diners on a budget, including students and young families, visiting for post-shopping or pre-theater fare. Snacks like the spinach artichoke dip and lettuce wraps are standards, but the menu also includes crispy mac ‘n’ cheese (yes, it’s fried), dynamite shrimp and a spicy chicken tinga quesadilla with ranchito sauce. Among the pizzas, we recommend sticking to classics like the white pizza or original barbecue chicken thin-crust pie instead of opting for a version with habanero carnitas with dry pulled pork, cilantro pesto and red onions. The chicken tequila fettuccine and original chopped salad have earned their permanent-member status on the menu, along with the steak tacos and a California club sandwich. For dessert, try the hot fudge brownie sundae with triple thick hot fudge. |
