California Pizza Kitchen Restaurant Review: While there are soups, salads, pastas and sandwiches on the menu, most patrons come to California Pizza Kitchen for the eponymous pies. Traditionalists can stick with pepperoni and mushroom or the margherita with fresh basil, but CPK made its reputation with the "fusion" pizzas. For the pizza adventurer there are such offerings as the tostada with black beans and tortilla strips, the famous barbecue chicken pizza, and a pie topped with pear and Gorgonzola. If you have any room at all for dessert, choose the Belgian chocolate soufflé cake, Key lime pie, or the fresh berries with vanilla cream. The wine list is short and inexpensive. Draft beers tend toward the "lite" varieties, with Sam Adams Boston lager as the "heavy."
