California Pizza Kitchen Restaurant Review: California Pizza Kitchen is a good place to stop for a meal while shopping or after a movie at the Bridgeport Village mall. CPK stretches the concept of pizza-making way beyond its Italian origins. Be daring and try one of the more inventive pies, such as the artichoke and spinach, the pear and Gorgonzola, or the B.L.T. combo --- complete with mayonnaise. The barbecued chicken pizza, in regular and Hawaiian versions, is one of the most popular on the menu. Non-pizza eaters will also find plenty to choose from, like Thai linguine with spicy peanut-ginger sauce, hummus, and smashed pea and barley soup. Salads are generously portioned --- the barbecued-chicken salad is just like its pizza namesake minus the crust. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices are also available. Filling desserts as well as beer, wine and cocktails round out the menu. |
