Dining room at THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED NAMES Campagne, Seattle, WAJust off a courtyard shared with the Inn at the Market is Campagne, known for its sophisticated ambience, menu of well prepared French classics and polished service. Soft lights and candles create a relaxed, romantic mood. Polished hardwood floors and French art gallery posters hung on butter-yellow walls complete the elegant décor. There's even a peek-a-boo view over Pike Place Market rooftops to Elliott Bay and Washington State ferries. But no one comes here to look out the window---it's the food that deserves full attention. Begin with an assortment of petite plats (small plates), such as sautéed scallops over carrot purée or herb-flecked rib-eye tartare. Mains range from roasted veal sweetbreads with curry cream to guinea hen breast roasted with garlic confit, and a roasted leg of lamb flanked by a side of oyster mushroom and garlic risotto. When available, the cassoulet is life affirming. Desserts are often notable, and a gracious sommelier can match wine selections to your meal.
