| Fishermen deem a catch that is hard to handle as a cantankerous fish. Yet nothing about this restaurant is hard to handle. It's an upscale (but far from pretentious) spot for fine seafood and other fresh fish that is good for family gatherings, business meetings, or romantic interludes. For starters, go with the fritto misto of prawns, calamari, a variety of fresh fish, lemon, kale and caper aïoli, or the roasted beets salad with walnuts, manchego cheese, and pomegranate vinaigrette. For a main course, choose from seasonal specialties, such as chipotle-marinated sea bass, pan-roasted petrale, seafood stew in saffron-fennel broth, or baked salmon wrapped in grape leaves. Those interested in something other than fish should enjoy the Moroccan spiced short ribs or the free-range chicken breast with mushroom cream sauce. Save room for the strawberry shortcake and chocolate bread pudding. The small wine list is all about California varietals while the full bar serves a variety of designer cocktails like the Aqua Hypnotic martini. |
