Cantinetta Antinori Restaurant Review:
On the little piazza in the center of Florence’s shopping experience, the rather small and intimate Cantinetta Antinori is situated in the 14th-century palazzo named after the Antinori vintner. More of a wine bar with food, it’s a favorite place for Florentines to stop for lunch, although the restaurant is open for dinner as well. Friendly staff will recommend the Antinori wines, which for the price are a good choice, and there are other wines available. Typical Tuscan fare populates the seasonal menu. Starters include tomato and bread soup or crostini with cherry tomatoes, while among main courses are Florentine steak or prawns with artichokes. Desserts bring a warm pear pie topped with mascarpone. All ingredients are produced at the Antinori farms in Tuscany.
