Cap City Fine Diner & Bar Restaurant Review: Cap City is an updated re-creation of an old-time diner. The meatloaf, enhanced by mushrooms and accompanied by buttermilk-chive mashed potatoes, is a standout. Other choices include ponzu-glazed salmon with sticky rice, stir-fried vegetables and pineapple ginger sauce as well as spicy chicken rigatoni. But if you prefer to stick with down-home fare, you’ll find chili dogs, fried chicken, blue-plate specials and a variety of homemade pies and desserts, too. Weekend brunch features additions to the regular lunch menu like eggs Benedict and baked french toast. The restaurant also has a gluten-free menu with an array of choices. Consider dropping by for happy hour (4 p.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday) or half-price wine-by-the-bottle night on Mondays.
