: Recalling the era of the popular speakeasy, the sign inside the entrance to this cozy restaurant sets the tone for a cheerful dining experience. Guests are instructed to ring the bell that signals a host to open a small window and ask, Who sent you? John Bengimina, the impeccable owner of this restaurant, formerly named Nana B's, has redecorated with artifacts and memorabilia reminiscent of a bygone age. Romantic tapestry-covered booths with plush gold drapes rim the perimeter of the dining room, affording some privacy. Beamed ceilings, subdued lighting and ceiling fans enhance the ambience. Recipes from Bengimina's chef de cuisine, Raimondo (Ray) Gallo, are imaginative and delicious. Among savory starters, we like the grilled deep diver scallops and plump Gulf shrimp. Try the Napa spinach salad with candied walnuts, Gorgonzola, caramelized pear and crispy prosciutto chips tossed with the signature honey-balsamic dressing. The array of appealing pasta dishes includes the tasty fettuccine sautéed with wild mushrooms, garlic, shallots and herbs in a tomato demi-glace. The Sicilian stuffed meatloaf---baked ground veal, pork and beef rolled with prosciutto and provolone topped with a Chianti-mushroom sauce---is a house specialty served with garlic mashed potatoes. Save room for the irresistible Lemoncello tart cake.
