Carmel Cafe & Wine Bar Restaurant Review

: With a touch of old-world cuisine and new-world technology, this growing chain of trendy restaurants invites guests to dictate their food orders with a tableside MenuPad. The idea is to give the diner a sense of control over the experience, and the iPad allows them to see the food they are choosing, convey the cooking instructions, and keep pace with the process. Servers will assist with questions and explanations. The café specializes in "small plates" and "large plates," and the Mediterranean-influenced cooking offers some intriguing and savory choices, like grilled lemon chicken and artichoke flatbreads, with arugula and Parmesan. Specialties feature such choices as thyme-garlic grilled shrimp with angel hair pasta and Romesco sauce. Lamb lollipops present seared rack of lamb with tzatziki sauce. The wine list allows for sampling by the glass from a wide range of choices, and wine pairings are encouraged. Other locations.
