| Ensconced in a former old-time country store at the edge of the W&OD trail, this restaurant-as-pit-stop fills up with bikers and hikers who drop in for refreshments, cooling off, and, of course, barbecue. The limited menu features pulled pork and beef sandwiches, baby-back ribs, hot dogs, and maybe a choice or two of a homemade pie or cookies. But, hey, if you want to grab a quick bite before pedaling away, the barbecuing owners will outfit your backpack with just what you need. Other folks who drop in will feel as if they’ve stepped back a few generations, and may wind up taking home a rack or two of ribs. |
