| What a charmer, this little neighborhood place, with its for-sale paintings on the wall, its clusters of chatting friends and families, and its formidable sandwiches, salads, small plates and steaming coffee drinks. We selected a Reuben panini, grilled and dripping with melted cheese, but missed out on the more unusual chicken with apricots, Brie and mango chutney---worth a return trip. Check out the roast beef quesadilla or the grilled cilantro shrimp with Asian slaw. Cassatt's kitchen does not turn out drop-dead pastries. What a shame, for this makes the ideal setting for the ubiquitous coffee break with something sweet and sinful to accompany a hot drink. Try out the breakfast menu, too: the breakfast panini and the french toast are the stars of the morning show. |
