| Located in a strip mall across from the old IBM plant, Castillo's Mexican Restaurant is a true local favorite in the South San Jose area. It draws a healthy lunchtime crowd from the sizable workforce in the area and is known as a convenient and inexpensive spot for families to dine in the evening. The restaurant offers a wide array of intriguing house specialties. Some of the best items include the Pollo Bravo (a tender boneless chicken breast marinated in sangría sauce) and the Camarones Empanisados (breaded shrimp served with fresh avocado). There's also a fine fish taco plate and a first-rate rendition of the classic chile relleno. Castillo's is a popular destination in the morning for Mexican egg dishes and other breakfast items. Service is very friendly. |
