THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Caviar Kaspia Restaurant Review:
A renovation has lightened the tone of this clubby Mayfair institution tucked away around the corner from Berkeley Square and famed for its splendid caviar list and old school charm. If that all sounds a mite intimidating, fear not: everyone gets treated royally (the ladies-who-lunch have cottoned on to its handy proximity to the delights of nearby Bond Street), and theres a placid purr of contented chat about the place. Beluga, Oscietra, Sevrugra, pressed and salmon caviar are all available, served with a variety of accompaniments (cant go wrong with blinis or toast of course). Chef William Cooper has plenty of other tricks up his sleeve: pasta roulade filled with wild mushrooms, spinach and sage butter; fresh foie gras and salmon fishcakes with lobster sauce. There are 40 different vodkas to tuck into as well, which cant be bad. Set menus £22, £43, £72.50 and £144.
