With a beautiful pressed-tin ceiling and dark wood booths, this Village pub is one of the best spots for forgetting which decade it is. The Cedar's wild days may be behind it---Jackson Pollock was banned for ripping off the men's room door from its hinges---as today you'll find more mild-tempered, tie-loosened office workers and NYU and New School students here for the beer selection and pub grub (which is available till the wee hours of the morning). Those with a sunnier disposition should head to the upstairs section with its ceiling skylight and light-wood booths.
