THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cedars Restaurant Review: The décor doesn't rely for its effect on specific ethnic adornment, yet the restaurant is comfortable and feels appropriate for this food. Cedars does a consistently good job of the basics of Middle Eastern cuisine. Topnotch hummus, tabbouleh and tahini, for instance, and good lentil soup set the stage. Can't decide? Order the meze, which will supply you with a tray of vegetarian noshes Middle East style. Fine kebabs---lamb, shrimp, beef or chicken, all with vegetables and potatoes---round out the menu. The kibbeh and fish with pine nuts also are good. With something for everyone, this is a good place for omnivores to take their vegetarian friends. And it's a terrific value. Check out the lunch and weekend buffets for especially favorable price-quality ratios.
