THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cedro Ristorante Italiano Restaurant Review:
With its sincere and authentic Italian dishes, this family-owned eatery in Menlo Park satiates a longing for home-cooked comfort. To savor a ramekin of piping hot, creamy polenta, topped with a chunky fresh tomato sauce can feel like a hug from mom. Simple caprese salad is made memorable thanks to plump, silky slices of mozzarella and juicy organic tomatoes straight from the garden. Look for the ravioli stuffed with asparagus and sparingly dressed in a vodka cream sauce, or tender osso buco that requires zero coaxing to fall off the bone into a light broth pooled around risotto. A long glassed-in porch runs parallel to the main dining area and its vast kitchen; on cooler nights, heat lamps make the outdoor experience cozy. Once or twice a month, opera singers serenade guests, adding to the restaurant’s charm. Many of the wines hail from Calabria and have been hand-selected by the owners on their visits to Italy. End the night with a scoop of rich, dense fig gelato.
