THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cendio Restaurant Review:

The location will seem familiar to many locals. Brett Miller, who brought San Diegans JRDN and Gringo’s Cantina, has transformed the former Moon Doggies space into this Nuevo Latino hot spot. Dine on the terrace for the best ambience; bar seating can be distracting unless you are fan of multiple TVs showing myriad sports. Irish chef Diane Stopford excels in appetizers---we like the chorizo y papas, the duck empanadas (with mango salsa and jalapeño-buttermilk crema) and the ancho-crusted scallops (served atop chickpea cakes). Least favorite are the tough tamarind-glazed baby-back ribs with green papaya slaw. The most flavorful entrée is the tender and chewy Cuban-style skirt steak with sweet roasted corn and cilantro-lime rice. There are several family-style entrées to be shared with parties of six or more, like tamales, whole coffee-glazed pork loin, roast suckling pig, and mole chicken. Desserts are whimsical and fun---we love the churros with Mexican chocolate dipping sauce and the dulce de leche bread pudding.
