THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Center Cut Restaurant Review:

Located on the second floor of The Empire Hotel and across the street from Lincoln Center, this meat Mecca has an insular enough feel that space and time seem to slip away. And it’s meant to be that way. The high ceilings, chandeliers, warm mahogany wood walls, and leather banquettes give the atmosphere a classic New York feel. But it’s the menu that drives home the theme. Chef Bradley Day, late of Vong and Asia de Cuba, has resuscitated several classic steak preparations: the extravagant foie gras-topped Rossini, the blue crab-stuffed Oscar, and the Worcestershire-topped Diane. Meat comes from the ethically driven Brandt farm and is generally top quality and served tender enough to cut with a fork. The top starter is the Berkshire bacon-wrapped scallops which are shaved with black truffles. There are over 200 globe-bending bottles of wine and fifteen by the glass, as well as a long list of classic and signature cocktails.
