| Be prepared to stand in line for your ribs during peak times at this small counter-service-only ’cue shop. Central’s respectable versions of tangy ribs and pulled pork shoulder have put the place on the map. Central also serves up fiery hot wings (marinated, smoked and then fried), homemade potato chips, a smoked portobello mushroom sandwich for vegetarians, and four choices of sauce. Place your order and choose a table---either on the breezy patio or inside the tiny dining room. Arrive early to catch a good seat, as this place stays packed at meal times. There’s no wine list to speak of, but beer goes better with barbecue anyway. Order a glass of locally brewed Ghost River beer to wash down your ’cue. Desserts include cheesecake, a hot fudge brownie, or the cool and creamy peanut butter pie. |
