THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cercle Rouge Restaurant Review:

Unlike some restaurants that take the French bistro ambience to a comic extreme, Cercle Rouge resonates with the nostalgia of Paris and the sophistication of TriBeCa: soft cream-colored walls, exposed brick and just enough red to entice the eye. The menu, overseen by chef Pierre Landet, is classic bistro fare: steak frites tender enough to leave the knife on the table, duck breast smothered in cassis sauce accompanied by a fresh mushroom gratin, and chicken topped with morel sauce and served with mashed potatoes and butternut squash. The chicken wings, known as Cercle Wings, are not very bistro-like, but they’re plump and crispy enough to make you wish they’d become a staple. The brunch menu on weekends is a relaxing treat.
