Despite a change in management, Chanterelle still promises an elegant meal in a romantic setting. The dining space seats only 35 guests at full capacity, making it a good choice for a cozy night out. Chef Santos Najera retains the previous menu’s tendency toward classic dishes with innovative twists. Starters include the basics such as calamari and crab cakes, the former served with sesame seeds and rice noodles, the latter with a plum wine and coconut curry sauce. Mains include a duck Wellington with blackberry Cabernet sauce, grilled pork tenderloin medallions with maple chipotle aïoli and grilled rack of lamb with a fig and apple chutney. A fine ending to a meal here is one of the decadent homemade desserts, while the wine list features a sizeable variety of local wines. |
