Expensive Prime-quality beef as designated by the USDA is hard to find in suburban restaurants---an exception being this honest-to-goodness Prime steakery on Ventura Boulevard’s restaurant row. The look is Eastern clubby, with comfy semicircular booths and carpeting that deflects some of the noise. Prices are high, but then you get what you pay for: everything from a juicy veal chop to nicely cooked steaks from filet mignon to a hefty New York strip. Side dish highlights include creamed spinach, crusty onion rings and potatoes au gratin.
