Chart House Restaurant Review:

The Chart House chain, which runs the revolving restaurant atop the Tower of the Americas, is mostly a coastal concern, hence its seafood specialties. The only water you’ll see from the Tower is a hint of the San Antonio River, best experienced from the River Walk. Instead, appreciate the truly dramatic views of the city and the Hill Country on the horizon as you contemplate the menu. Seafood dishes may include seared, peppered ahi, steamed mussels, crab-crusted dynamite salmon, and pan-seared sea scallops in soy-ginger broth. Among the steaks, simpler is better; go for the New York strip---medium rare, of course. But let’s be honest here: revolving restaurants have never distinguished themselves by food---though Chart House does offer a chocolate lava cake with Godiva chocolate liqueur. Suggestion: Head for the stationary bar (better that it doesn’t revolve), have an appetizer and-or dessert and call it a day.
