Chateau de Saigon offers a huge menu of regional specialties, most of which are easily shared by at least two people. Take the soups, for instance, which could make a starter for a group of four; we liked the brimming bowl full of vegetables and noodles in an aromatic, flavorful chicken broth. The kitchen’s version of the green papaya salad is a healthful pile of julienned green papaya and other assorted fruits and vegetables, plus peanuts and the protein of your choice. Your dinner could progress to embrace any of myriad classic dishes, including noodle bowls, hot pots and those rice-based. Vegetarians will find tofu and vegetable fare in abundance. Like most authentic Asian restaurants, dessert is not a factor, but you won't care as you'll be too full to enjoy one anyway. Pair a beer or hot tea with your food.
