Chateau Morrisette Restaurant Review:

Château Morrisette, comprising a winery, restaurant and gift shop, makes its home in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Wine, naturally, may enhance the dining experience, which plays out indoors or on a patio, weather-permitting. American cuisine crafted with regionally sourced products and international inflections ranges from “lighter fare” like fried green tomatoes laced with buttermilk dressing (stacked with house-made pimento blue cheese for a burst of still more Southern pride) and duck egg rolls to entrées of fresh North Carolina catfish with chow-chow and apple brined pork chop with rosemary mac ‘n’ cheese and baked apple pumpernickel strata. Finish your meal with lemon poppyseed pound cake iced with lavender butter cream or dessert wine. Or both. Scheduled winery tours and wine tastings are available, and, Easter to Thanksgiving finds an elaborate Sunday brunch buffet in lieu of à la carte lunch.
