Chateau Morrisette Restaurant Review: Château Morrisette, comprising a winery, restaurant and gift shop, makes its home in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Wine, naturally, may enhance the dining experience, which plays out indoors or on a patio, weather-permitting. American cuisine crafted with regionally sourced products and international inflections ranges from “lighter fare” like tabbouleh spinach salad to entrées of coffee wood-smoked half chicken and baked salmon stuffed with Brie and onion marmalade over house-made pappardelle. Don’t be surprised to taste Southern pride with pimento cheese melded into the risotto and cornbread croutons traipsing through the Caesar salad. Finish your meal with grasshopper pie or dessert wine. Or both. Scheduled winery tours and wine tastings are available, and, Easter to Thanksgiving finds an elaborate Sunday brunch buffet in lieu of à la carte lunch.
