Chaz on the Plaza Restaurant Review: Unquestionably, this is one of Kansas City's most romantic restaurants, tucked in the lower level of The Raphael Hotel and smack in the center of Country Club Plaza. Dinnertime may bring such first courses as fried green tomatoes or ancho spiced black bean soup, while mains might range from pan-roasted duck breast accompanied by Chinese black rice to thyme-crusted scallops with summer squash risotto. Flourless chocolate torte or perhaps a vanilla bean crème brûlée may end the meal. Take advantage of the live jazz Tuesday through Sunday or plan an escape during happy hour, which takes place Monday through Friday. |
