THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Che Restaurant Review:

Natty restaurant, bar and cigar room housed in the old Economist building, a suitably groovy example of listed 1960s architecture on the fringes of St. James’s. The large, buzzing, bountifully stocked cocktail bar is your first port of call, staffed by a squad of enthusiastic mixologists that oversees a long list of intoxicating diversions. The restaurant, at the top of a set of original escalators, keeps up the good work, with impressive views and service brimming with affable efficiency. Chef Julian Marshall inherited a ’greatest hits’ menu and has yet to make any major changes. So expect plenty of diligently prepared bloke-ish comfort food at one end (Thai green chicken curry, fish and chips) and game specials at the other (foie gras, duck). Back down the escalator, the comfy environs of the cigar divan have a pleasingly informal air, but still allow for some serious stogie smoking.
