The Cheesecake Factory Restaurant Review: This popular California chain opened its first San Diego outpost in 1999 at Fashion Valley, the town’s leading shopping mall, and filled up within the first 15 minutes or so. Even though this restaurant is huge---and lots of fun when full, oddly enough---waits are common, thanks to the immense popularity earned by the friendly, eager staff and the crowd-pleasing multi-page menu of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers, pastas and everything else under the sun. The menu can get a bit weird with items like the mashed potato omelet, but dishes up a decent chicken with shortcake biscuits and country gravy, an enjoyable Beverly Hills pizza salad, crabcakes and, of course, those cheesecakes and other rich desserts that made the restaurant famous. |
