| It's sometimes difficult to get a seat during crunch time at lunch and dinner at this Winter Park Village hot-spot. The Cheesecake Factory is in a beautiful space, with high ceilings, tromp l'oeil finishes and an overall energy buzz. If it's cool enough, a seat at one of the outdoor tables is nice, as the dining rooms get noisy. Opt for the smaller back room if you get a choice and are there for conversation, not to be seen. It takes a while to pore over the menu, with its more than 200 items. Portions are generous, so you may want to consider noshing on a couple of appetizers. We can recommend the spicy ahi tempura roll, or the roadside sliders. There are pizzas, pastas, seafood, steaks and even “weight management salads” and two pages of specialties, like bang bang shrimp and crispy chicken costoletta in a lemon sauce (you can get a lunch-size portion of most dishes---plenty---until 5 p.m.). Whatever you decide, save room for the cheesecake---forget any other dessert. The original (plain) version is always a standout, but they've taken excess to a new level with more than a dozen decadent options like chocolate pecan turtle and tiramisu. What the heck, eat dessert first. |
