| It's sometimes difficult to get a seat during crunch time at lunch and dinner at this Winter Park Village hot-spot. The Cheesecake Factory is in a beautiful space, with high ceilings and tromp l'oeil finishes. If it's cool enough, a seat at one of the outdoor tables is nice, as the dining rooms get noisy. Opt for the smaller back room if you get a choice and are there for conversation, not to be seen. It takes a while to pore over the menu, with its more than 200 items. Portions are generous, so you may want to consider choosing appetizers as your entrée. We can recommend the spicy ahi tempura roll or the Tex-Mex egg rolls. There are pizzas, pastas, seafood, steaks and even “weight management salads” and two pages of specialties, like shepherd’s pie, Thai chicken pasta and miso salmon (you can get a lunch-size portion of most dishes---plenty---until 5 p.m.). Whatever you decide, save room for the cheesecake---forget any other dessert. The original (plain) version is always a standout, but they've taken excess to a new level with more than a dozen decadent options like chocolate pecan turtle and tiramisu. What the heck, eat dessert first. |
