Chez Grenouille Restaurant Review: Chez Grenouille is a genuine, rustic butcher shop-style bistro. The only ornaments on the walls are the chef's awards --- France's champion in 2008 for tripes à la provençale, grand national prize for the pieds de porc à la cassine --- and slates mentioning all kind of meats and recommended wines. The patrons come and mix with the riffraff with large doses of terrine pressée de bœuf au choux, pavé de pieds de porc à la truffe noire, fromage de tête Médaille, tête de veau sauce gribiche and also scrambled eggs with morel mushrooms and Châteaubriand au poivre --- not a very vegetarian-friendly selection. Thus it shouldn't be a surprise since Alexis Blanchard was born in the capital of boudin: Mortagne-au-Perche. His wife attentively presides over the dining room.
