Chez Nous French Restaurant Restaurant Review: Gerard Brach established Chez Nous French Restaurant in what was once a Pentecostal church in Humble, which is about 20 miles outside of Houston. Executive chef Stacy Crowe-Simonson presents seasonal French menus, daily specials and a nightly five-course tasting with wine pairings. You can’t go wrong starting with the seared foie gras, fruits and honey, or the Burgundy escargots swimming in garlic butter. While we recommend the aforementioned tasting, if you want to order off the menu try the classics: Châteaubriand for two, roasted rack of young lamb and grilled duckling. For something lighter, consider the seared diver scallops with tomato-smoked bacon risotto. Cheese plates and salads round things out; to satisfy a sweet tooth, order the chocolate soufflé at the beginning of your meal. Charming ambience that’s good for notable occasions and any time you’re craving French food.
