THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Chianti Restaurant Review:
Still elegant at 60, Chianti retains a reserved, romantic old-world atmosphere. Seating is in discreet high-backed booths and the light level is so low, your attentive waiter may offer you a penlight for reading the menu. Many of the dishes are now considered classics---veal scaloppine or boneless breast of chicken sautéed with white wine and lemon sauce, for example. You can also find unusual pastas, such as pheasant-filled ravioli, and such straightforward entrées as the mixed seafood grill or grilled rack of lamb with fresh thyme oil. The wine list offers many excellent bottles from California and Italy. Chianti Cucina, which shares the location and the open kitchen, began as the brightly lit, casual baby brother of Chianti and quickly became a formidable restaurant with its own loyal following. The menu usually includes osso buco, several satisfying pastas and risottos.
