| This old-style, family-run, red-sauce haven in the heart of Little Italy reels 'em in with straightforward abundance. From the bar to the farthest reaches of its double-decker warren of dining rooms, the place is usually jumping with locals and tourists alike. That's because a big heart, if also an occasionally heavy hand, is at work in the kitchen. Expect massive plates of linguine with clam sauce, chicken cacciatore over polenta, Grandma's secret-recipe ravioli, and hearty veal saltimbocca, to be preceded by an equally gargantuan specialty house salad with cheese-laden dressing. If you opt for dessert, the homemade tiramisu with Kahlúa cream may hit the spot. Four private dining rooms stand ready for business meetings or personal celebrations. A second Chiapparelli’s is located in a turn-of-the-century inn in picturesque Havre de Grace. |
