The cuisine here is “Brazilitalian,” which means you'll find some familiar pastas and pizzas, plus some Brazilian-inspired items such as empanadas, steaks served with a side of plantains, and coconut milk-creamed seafood stews called moquecas.

THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Chiara Restaurant Review

: Yet another high-ceilinged, brick-clad, quasi-hip eatery in Old Pasadena with tables spilling onto the busy sidewalk. This one, however, is not exactly your standard issue trattoria. Here the cuisine is not simply Italian but Brazilitalian. That means you'll find some predictable pizzas and pastas, but you can also discover Brazilian-inspired dishes such as black bean-and-chicken empanadas, coconut milk-creamed seafood stews called moquecas, and steaks served with a side of plantains. Chiara is a good place to enjoy a Brazilian cocktail like the classic caipirinha.
