Sammies in this case refers to multi-ethnic sandwiches, and they're generous in size, reasonably priced and good. Chow down on the Taylor Street Beef or the Hyde Park Ham & Cheese, and you will meet a sandwich (on freshly-baked flatbread) that is a meal by itself. X marks the spot for this place, as it is in the Waterworks Building (aka Pumping station), which is smack in the middle of some of the best shopping that Chicago has to offer.
