Openings

The trio that launched The Whistler brings the bar Sleeping Village to Avondale. Expect 56 draft beers and ciders, Dark Matter coffee and live music until 2 a.m. during weekdays and 3 a.m. on Saturdays. A year-round patio seats 150. Sleeping Village, 3734 W. Smoke Daddy Wrigleyville at Hotel Zachary brings its Midwestern barbecue to destination diners. The restaurant from 4 Star Restaurant Group seats 300 and spans 8,000 square feet, and has in-house smokers. Lowcountry has opened on Wabash Break out the bibs: Lowcountry's Wrigleyville location now has a sister. The second outpost serves the signature boil-in-a-bag crawfish, shrimp, crab legs and fixin's, this time with an emphasis on counter service. Specialty sides such as jalapeño honey butter cornbread remain, while large-format cocktails and beer towers account for the beverage program. Lowcountry, 1132 S. Artango Bar & Steakhouse launches its Two to Tango dinner series Date Night Heats up in Lincoln Square
Every Tuesday, couples can have their steak and dance it off, too. Artango Bar & Steakhouse launches its "Two to Tango" dinner series, with a shared meal for $25 per person, plus a 7:30 p.m. tango lesson from Argentine instructors Hernan Prieto and Daniela Roig. The dinner, with selections from a para compartir (steak flight) to asado de pollo, can be ordered before or after the class. Artango Bar & Steakhouse, 4767 N. Spring into Nordic flavors at the Conrad's Baptiste & Bottle
Icelandic chef Georg Arnar Halldórsson and Baptiste & Bottle executive chef James Lintelmann team up for a culinary treat: the third annual Taste of Iceland series from April 5 to 8. The pop-up will feature essential Icelandic dishes such as confit Arctic char, cured cod, Icelandic free-range lamb, and Icelandic Provisions Skyr ice cream with a beetroot reduction, raspberries, crystallized white chocolate, and rye bread. Erin go Bragh at Rebar
Next to being at the river's edge, there's no better viewing spot to watch the Chicago River being dyed green on St. Patrick's Day than Trump International Hotel & Tower's Rebar (unless of course, you know someone with a condo in Marina Towers). The party starts early at 8 a.m. with bagpipers, a DJ and green cocktails a la Shamrocktini's, Irish coffee with green cream and Irish mules. Chef Shuffle

Dennis Bernard, who helped launch Southern-inspired Mexican eatery Dove's Luncheonette in Wicker Park, returns to his roots as chef de cuisine of The Publican. Bernard was instrumental in starting the brunch program at The Publican before conceptualizing Dove's. He joined One Off Hospitality as a line cook at Blackbird. The Publican, 837 W.
