THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Chilpancingo Restaurant Review

: Generoso Geno Bahena struck gold with his Logan Square restaurant Ixcapuzalco, and he’s been working on furthering his fame and fortune in this larger, more demanding venue---as well as planning additional restaurants. Chef Bahena makes Mexican food with finesse. He’s a master of the mole sauces, so we can highly recommend those, whether they grace a simple breast of chicken, or a sprightly loin of venison on menus that change every two weeks. Rack of lamb is another tasty option, the lamb often varnished with a mole negro. Seafood fares well when the chef shows some restraint, as in fish that comes with three sauces (to resemble the colors in the Mexican flag). Desserts are nothing to write home to Mexico about. There is an ambitious, but not overwhelming, wine list.
