THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Chin Chin Restaurant Review: Each Chin Chin operates with a basic menu, but may customize some of its dishes to suit local tastes. This location offers the same core menu, but also is known for its eclectic options, with the Grand Marnier shrimp a popular specialty. Popular, too, are the $2 appetizers and $2 draughts between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Located near hotels, this location also delivers. We like the hot appetizers for sharing, including the excellent salt-and-pepper calamari and the soft-shell crabs. The cold noodles with hot sesame sauce make a lively counterpoint to more mild dishes, adding another dimension to a meal. While much of the menu is typical of Chinese American fare, dishes seem singularly well prepared. Chef's specials include such unusual items as Taiwanese chicken (a casserole with vegetables in a hot pot). Some ten percent of the dishes are specials at this location, including the black pepper filet mignon. Service is exceptionally friendly and swift. Be aware that a couple of the locations have been sold and retain the name but not the quality. Other locations.
