THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED China Hill Restaurant Restaurant Review: The Hill is one of Denvers unsung heroes on the Chinese food circuit. This cozy and clean small-scale operation serves some of the very best Asian fare in the city, at medium-gauge prices that boost the value factor. Sure, you can spend more at a more atmospheric-minded place, but you wont get the consistent treasures found here. The sesame chicken is delish, lightly fried and laced with red pepper flakes, served with a light-but-still-sweet sauce that doesnt swamp the bird. Seafood dishes swim with tender shrimp and succulent scallops; the eggplant dishes pack flavor and ample heat. The kung pao shrimp is a royal treat and the flaming pu-pu platter is a fave, stacked with toothsome treats much tastier than the usual fired-up gimmicks found around town. The lunch buffet is one of the best daytime deals around, of any cuisine.
