| This cavernous room is painted in reds, golds and muddy pinks and looks like a 1970s banquet hall, shamelessly gaudy---all the more reason to love it. While the Cantonese menu that's served at dinner is the Chinatown status quo at best, the midday dim sum is a veritable institution, particularly a seafood buffet that boasts a good version of clams or mussels with a tangy black bean sauce. Dozens of varieties are available, offered to you by a sweet staff who wheel the savory wonders around on noisy metal carts. There's shrimp shu mai; devilishly sweet barbecued pork buns; fried prawns, head and all; and tangy beef meatballs. The list goes on, hence the need for repeat visits. |
