THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Chouteau’s at 39th Restaurant Review:

Adrift in an industrial zone just east of The Grove, this restaurant space was beset by road construction woes for years, when first a nearby bridge and then an entire interstate highway were closed. But with the end of roadwork comes a concept that maximizes both the prized wooden bar and the lovely outdoor patio, each among the city’s best. The food, conceptualized by noted local chef Mike Johnson, is eclectic pub grub with signature items from a few of his other restaurant ventures past and present, like Cyrano’s memorable roast beef sandwich. Check out the meatloaf (or meatloaf sub), the Dr. Pepper-glazed chicken or beef brochettes, too. Or, for the adventurous, the Fatty Melt, a half-pound burger between two grilled cheese sandwiches, with a topping of caramelized onions for good measure.
