Cibo Restaurant Review: Something of a hot-spot when it opened, Cibo now plays host to a mostly local crowd from nearby businesses and the formidable Tudor City apartment complex. The seasonally changing menu has a roster of dishes that are at once sophisticated and homey: crisp duck confit with coconut five-spice jasmine rice and slow-roasted pineapple mango butter; pappardelle with braised duck, porcinis, sun-dried tomatoes and leeks; and oven-roasted pancetta-wrapped monkfish with a fall vegetable risotto and roasted asparagus jus. The wine list is rather meager, but there are a few serious Italian reds on the brief reserve list. For semi-privacy, reserve one of the four booths separated by wire-mesh curtains in the slate-floored main dining room. |
