Something of a hot spot when it opened, Cibo now plays host to a mostly local crowd from nearby businesses and the formidable Tudor City apartment complex. The seasonally changing menu has a roster of dishes that are at once sophisticated and homey: foie gras with squash risotto cake, Bosc pear and golden raisin chutney; gemelli pasta braids with veal meatballs, porcini mushrooms, crispy pancetta and sun-dried tomatoes; and braised lamb shank with vegetables, creamy blue cheese polenta and sweet Vidalia onion. The wine list is rather meager, but there are a few serious Italian reds on the brief reserve list. For semi-privacy, reserve one of the four booths separated by wire-mesh curtains in the slate-floored main dining room.
